Note from our Judge, Mark Willie: There are a lot of great ideas and designs on display in this poster competition and choosing just one poster is difficult. The range of sentiments about the future run the gamut from the pessimistic to the optimistic and of course a lot of unknowns. In this particularly challenging moment one idea resonated the most for me, however, and that is the hopeful message of Amanda Carroll’s poster: “Disconnect. Reconnect”. It may be spiritually what we are left with in this troubled world as we “connect” simultaneously while separating ourselves physically. A powerful message of hope for the future. It is also a beautifully designed, well-presented and simple idea that a poster can do so powerfully.
